Slippers with Teeth

Anybody know how you're supposed to sew the heel closed on these? I've got two 'teeth' on the back of each LOL! I couldn't figure out how to sew them closed. An "aunt" used to make these by the truckload for all us kids way back in the day.

And it's official-I'm addicted to double pointed needles and socks LOL! They are a blast. I never wear hats or mittens but I guess I will be this winter just to keep on knitting with dp's!

Did you get my first post about your slippers? I think they are really cool. I don't know how to fix the teeth, maybe use a stapler? (Just kidding!) What pattern did you ise for them? I like it a lot.

Thanks Dave-they are just like I used to get as a kid. They came from here: http://www.bevscountrycottage.com/maggieslippers.html

Just be sure to do the double sole for wear & warmth. As a kid, there was also a row or two of single crochet around the top that I forgot to put on these.
